Crossings was built from the ground up, just a few years ago, on three key principles that guide everything we do.
WE WILL BE REAL PEOPLE
Because we know that the last thing the world needs is people who are acting like we have it all together. What we need is a place to go where we're free to find out what's together and what's not. And the best way to do that is to be real. That doesn't mean we aren't intentional about growth and development. It just means we aren't trying to pretend we're perfect, and we don't expect you to either.
OUR GOAL IS EXPERIENCING REAL LIFE
Jesus said that His entire purpose for ever living in this world to provide a new life. While the New Testament uses a number of phrases to describe it, we think two things are key.
One is that life in this world takes on a whole new meaning, and offers a different quality than before. For some, this part can be hard to grasp. But it's something like this: the things inside us basically define what life will become, not the things that surround us. With Jesus, the change He brings inside offers an inner experience that produces an outer change.
The other is that this life lasts forever. is promise included a guarantee that He is preparing a place for every one of His followers, and that we will one day be part of a community (Kingdom) that never suffers and never ends, and neither will we.
OUR PURPOSE IS TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE
For us, being part of a church is not an escape into a religious retreat. Rather, it's a call into a life of purpose-filled engagement with a world that is so ready for a different kind of love experience. In fact, the Bible sums up the entire idea of being God's people as love. And we know that love is an action, not an emotion. So we have determined to be intentionally involved in action that makes a difference in the world--both individually and as a church, together.
